Our Story & People

Getting to know the folks who've got your back in the boardroom and courtroom

How We Got Here

Look, we didn't just wake up one day and decide to hang a shingle. Building this practice has been a journey—one that's taught us what businesses actually need from their legal counsel.

2012

The Beginning

Started with three partners and a vision—stop treating clients like billable hours and start treating them like partners. We set up shop in a cramped office and got to work building something different.

2015

First Major Win

Landed our first multi-million dollar M&A deal. Not gonna lie, we were nervous as hell, but we pulled it off. That case taught us we could compete with the big downtown firms without losing our soul.

2018

Expansion & Recognition

Moved to Bay Street and brought on specialists in IP and employment law. Started getting calls from companies we'd only dreamed about representing. The team grew from 8 to 24 lawyers who all shared our approach.

2021

Navigating Uncertainty

Pandemic hit and everything changed. We helped dozens of businesses pivot, restructure, and survive. Those years reminded us why we got into this—being there when things get rough matters more than anything.

2025

Today & Tomorrow

We're 35 lawyers strong now, handling everything from startups to established enterprises. The practice keeps evolving, but our core belief hasn't changed—your success is our success, plain and simple.

What We Stand For

These aren't just words on a wall. They're how we actually operate day-to-day.

Straight Talk

We don't use legal jargon to make ourselves sound smart. If you can't understand what we're saying, we're not doing our job right. You'll always know where you stand.

Real Partnership

Your problems become our problems. We're not just service providers sending invoices—we're invested in your outcomes because your wins are our wins.

Speed Matters

Business moves fast and legal advice shouldn't slow you down. We respond quickly, think on our feet, and understand that sometimes good enough today beats perfect next week.

Business First

Legal advice that ignores business reality is useless. We think about your bottom line, your market position, and your long-term strategy—not just the statute books.

Creative Solutions

There's usually more than one way to solve a problem. We look for angles others miss and find paths forward that work for everyone involved when possible.

No Surprises

You'll know what things cost upfront, how long they'll take, and what risks you're facing. We don't believe in surprising clients with bills or bad news they should've seen coming.

Actually Human

We remember your kid's name, ask about your vacation, and answer emails on weekends when it matters. Legal work is serious but that doesn't mean we have to be robots.

Always Learning

Laws change, business evolves, new challenges emerge. We stay current because resting on old knowledge is how you let clients down. Our team's constantly training and sharing insights.
